Lava stone: origin, transformation and material identity

Types of lava stone surfaces

Pure lava
Pure lava stone is left in a natural, minimally processed state. Its surface retains porosity, tonal variation and organic irregularities that reflect its volcanic origin. Glazed lava
Glazed lava stone, used in the Pantagruel table, is obtained through a high-temperature firing process in which mineral pigments and glass-based enamels are fused with the surface. The glaze becomes an integral part of the material, ensuring durability against UV rays, moisture and temperature changes while offering refined visual depth.

Recycled lava
Recycled lava stone is produced through the reprocessing of volcanic material, reducing waste and expanding the sustainability of the material cycle. The stone is crushed, reconstituted and reformed into usable surfaces while maintaining its mineral identity. This approach allows for lighter, more versatile applications while preserving the strength and character of volcanic stone.

Structure and construction
