A statement of Italian outdoor design
The Pantagruel 180 round dining table by Atmosphera Creative Lab is conceived as the heart of contemporary outdoor living. Generous in scale and refined in expression, it embodies a design philosophy rooted in Italian craftsmanship, where material, proportion and function are brought into perfect balance.
Atmosphera is a leading Italian brand specialising in high-end outdoor furniture, known for combining technical innovation with refined aesthetics. Its collections are designed to elevate exterior spaces—private residences, terraces, and hospitality environments—through a consistent focus on durability, comfort and timeless design. Pantagruel is one of its signature tables, developed to express both architectural presence and everyday usability.
The round geometry of the table encourages conviviality, creating a natural centre for gathering. Its clean lines and central base structure give it a sculptural quality, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into both modern and more classic outdoor settings.
Lava stone: origin, transformation and material identity
The tabletop is made from lava stone, a volcanic material formed by the rapid cooling of magma, traditionally sourced from Mount Etna. This natural stone is characterised by its mineral richness, subtle irregularities and unique textural depth, making each surface one of a kind.
Beyond its geological origin, lava stone undergoes a carefully controlled transformation process that allows it to be used in high-end design. It is cut, refined and treated to enhance both performance and aesthetics, while preserving its natural character.
Types of lava stone surfaces
Pure lava
Pure lava stone is left in a natural, minimally processed state. Its surface retains porosity, tonal variation and organic irregularities that reflect its volcanic origin. This version emphasises material authenticity and architectural rawness, often used where a more natural, tactile expression is desired.
Glazed lava
Glazed lava stone, used in the Pantagruel table, is obtained through a high-temperature firing process in which mineral pigments and glass-based enamels are fused with the surface. This creates a highly resistant, non-porous finish with deep colour intensity and a luminous, ceramic-like appearance. The glaze becomes an integral part of the material, ensuring durability against UV rays, moisture and temperature changes while offering refined visual depth.
Recycled lava
Recycled lava stone is produced through the reprocessing of volcanic material, reducing waste and expanding the sustainability of the material cycle. The stone is crushed, reconstituted and reformed into usable surfaces while maintaining its mineral identity. This approach allows for lighter, more versatile applications while preserving the strength and character of volcanic stone.
Structure and construction
The base of the Pantagruel table is made from aluminium, selected for its combination of lightness, strength and resistance to corrosion. It ensures long-term stability even in demanding outdoor conditions while maintaining a visually light profile.
The central pedestal design maximises legroom and enhances seating flexibility, allowing guests to sit comfortably around the entire circumference. The structure is engineered to support the substantial weight of the lava stone top while maintaining perfect balance and stability.
Dimensions and capacity
The Pantagruel 180 table has a diameter of 180 cm and a height of approximately 77 cm. Its proportions are designed to accommodate between 8 and 10 people, making it ideal for social dining and outdoor entertaining.
The circular shape eliminates hierarchy at the table, encouraging interaction and creating a shared focal point that enhances the dining experience.
A complete collection
In addition to the round version, the Pantagruel collection is also available in rectangular formats measuring 250 cm and 300 cm in length. These versions offer increased seating capacity while maintaining the same design language and material combination.
All versions share the same design principles: a refined lava stone top paired with a durable aluminium base, ensuring visual continuity across different spatial configurations.

Outdoor presence and design identity
The Pantagruel 180 table is designed as a focal point for outdoor spaces, combining material richness with architectural clarity. Its use of lava stone and aluminium creates a dialogue between nature and industry, resulting in a piece that is both visually striking and functionally enduring.
It is a table designed not only for dining, but for gathering—bringing people together around a surface shaped by natural forces and refined through contemporary design.
